Two women were fatally shot early Sunday morning in an apparent random shooting inside a Titusville hospital, authorities said.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. in a patient's third-floor room at Parrish Medical Center.

According to Titusville police, a gunman entered an elderly patient's room and shot the patient and a hospital employee who was sitting with her. The victims' names have not been released.

Police said one male suspect was taken into custody for questioning, but his name has not been released. A motive in the shooting is not yet known, but officials said the gunman acted alone.
