Either pray harder, or pray a lot less. Story out of Harbor Gateway, California:

Eight people were recovering Thursday from injuries sustained when a car slammed into a home in Harbor Gateway.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the crash unfolded shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 14000 block of South Orchard Avenue, just west of the 110 Freeway.

Upon their arrival, paramedics transported eight victims to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

A woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Hospital officials said five of the victim remain listed in critical condition at this time.

All of the victims ranged in ages from 40s to 80s, firefighters said. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver fled the scene.

Neighbors told KCAL9’s Rachel Kim Wednesday night that a group had gathered at the home for a prayer meeting, and many of the victims were elderly. Cont. (Video/Autoplay)
