GLIMMER - Cop Becomes Baby's Godfather After Saving Child From Choking On Cereal

Story out of Greenville, Georgia:

After saving the life of a baby in distress, a U.S. police officer has become the child’s godfather.

Last month, Kenneth Knox of Greenville, Ga., responded to the 911 emergency call regarding a choking baby.

The child — a two-month-old girl named Ma’Yavie Parham — was blue in the face and fading fast when Knox arrived, NBC affiliate 11Alive reports, adding her parents were hysterical.

“Please save my baby,” they reportedly screamed as the child remained limp.

In a Facebook post written after the incident, Knox described what happened next:

“I did reverse cpr and was able to suck the cereal out of her throat and she began breathing again,” he wrote on Sept. 25. “She smiled at me for a second and then starting crying which was music to my ears.”

Not long after his life-saving intervention, the Parham family contacted Knox and asked him to be the baby’s godfather, according to 11Alive, who reported he’s been in touch with the family daily and promises to be there for the girl. Cont.
