Comedian Max Alexander Dies
The comic had developed a cancerous facial tumor several months ago, according to a GoFundMe page that had raised more than $52,000 for his medical bills.
Radiation and chemotherapy left him debilitated and he was moved to a rehabilitation center in New York where he was relearning how to speak.
“Nothing can compare to all the love shown, the messages, the memories posted, everything you all did to let him know what he meant to each and every one of you,” an update on the GoFundMe page read Wednesday night.
Alexander is one of the only comics to perform on “The Tonight Show” hosted by Johnny Carson, Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien.
He’s also appeared in “Man on the Moon,” “Full House” and “Roxanne,” as well as Comedy Central’s “Best of the Improv” in 2003 and “Comedy Club Greats” with Jerry Seinfeld in 2007.
After undergoing a kidney transplant in 2008, Alexander returned to the big screen with roles in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2” and “Trainwreck." Cont.
