Construction Worker Diagnosed With Hepatitis C After Drinking 4, 5 Cans Of Energy Drinks For Three Weeks

Doctors have warned of a link between energy drinks and liver disease after a man developed acute Hepatitis from downing five cans a day.

The US construction worker used the drinks to help him stay awake during his shifts, drinking four to five cans every day for three weeks.

The previously healthy 50-year-old began suffering with abdominal pain and anorexia, which he at first put down to flu.

But when his symptoms progressed to vomiting, jaundice and dark urine the alarmed man went to the doctors who diagnosed him with acute Hepatitis C (not to be confused with Hi-C).

Doctors writing about the patient in the BMJ Case Reports journal believe the liver disease was brought on by the high concentration of certain vitamins in the drinks. Cont.
