7-Month-Old Dies In Hot Car Outside NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center
Story out of Huntsville, Alabama:
A 7-month-old child died at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., today after being left in a parked vehicle during the work day, a NASA spokesperson said.
"Early reports indicate that the parent intended to drop the child off at the childcare center and instead went straight to work," NASA spokeswoman Jennifer Stanfield said in a statement. "Names are being withheld out of respect for the family and pending all appropriate family notifications." The child's parent is a NASA employee, Stanfield said.
Because NASA is located on Redstone Arsenal, a federal installation, the death is being investigated by federal investigators, Stanfield said. Cont.
