Woman With Assault Rifle Kills One, Injures 3, Shutting Down Polling Station In California
Story out of Azusa, California:
One person was killed, and three others were injured, Tuesday afternoon in when a shooting took place in a residential area in Azusa prompting the closures of two polling places and a lockdown at a middle school, authorities reported.
The shooting happened about 2 p.m. in the area of Memorial Park on West Fourth Street and Orange Avenue, the Azusa Police Department said.
Four people were struck by gunfire, and one person later died from injuries sustained in the shooting, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
Three of the victims were transported to area hospitals, including two who were airlifted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department helicopter.
Amid the search for the shooter, multiple police and SWAT vehicles could be seen on the streets of the residential area, which appeared to be near a school
Two polling places in the area -- Memorial Park North Recreation Center and Dalton Elementary School -- were also impacted by the shooting, L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan tweeted.
A female voter said she estimates about 30 people remain inside the locked down polling location. Additionally, about 15-20 children were evacuated from a gym inside the recreation center where the voting station was located. Cont. (Video)
