Story out of Omaha, Nebraska:
The Omaha Police Department are investigating after a newborn baby was thrown from an apartment window and died Friday morning.
Police say 16-year-old Lopez gave birth to a premature baby some time before 4 a.m. Friday at the Kellom-Knolls Apartment complex.
Officers say shortly after birth, Lopez threw the baby out of her bedroom window and she then told her mother what she had done.
The mother told police she immediately went down and found the baby, called 9-1-1 and began CPR.
The infant was rushed to CHI Creighton hospital where it died.
OPD says the teen in this incident has been booked into the Douglas County Youth Center for one count of Felony Child Abuse Resulting in Death.
She has been charged as an adult. Cont.
