Mac's Are Being Infected With 'Ransomware'


Mac users often think they’re ‘immune’ to computer malware – but a new virus locks Macintosh computers and demands a £280 ransom.

It’s thought to be the first-ever ‘ransomware’ to target Mac computers, according to researchers from Palo Alto Networks.

Ransomware, one of the fastest-growing types of cyber threats, encrypts data on infected machines, then typically asks users to pay ransoms in hard-to-trace digital currencies to get an electronic key so they can retrieve their data. Cont.
