Four Pet Pomeranians Have Surgery After Eating Meat Filled With Razor Blades

Poor stupid little rat dogs. Story out of Chilliwack, British Columbia:

Four pet Pomeranians have undergone emergency surgery in B.C. after eating meat filled with razor blades.

Christine Desjardins, of Chilliwack, rushed her beloved pets to a veterinary clinic earlier this week after realizing they had found and ingested cooked pork pieces with razor blades embedded in them.

“I just started panicking, starting screaming, calling my husband,” said Desjardins, who lives in the Chilliwack River Estate Trailer Park.

Four consecutive surgeries followed for Furby, Lucy, Buddy and Fuzzball. The dogs are between 11 and 12 years old, and there are no guarantees they’ll survive, despite major surgery to remove the industrial blade shards.

Harveen Grewal, who works at the pet clinic, said the dogs were active after surgery, which “was a good sign.”

But Desjardins says she’s devastated by what’s happened. “How could somebody do this to my dogs?” she said. “Why would somebody do this?”

The SPCA and the RCMP say they are investigating the incident, and the Pomeranians remain under 24-hour care. Cont. (Video)
