One Year Later Woman Charged With Murder After Poisoning Boss


Story out of Whitesboro, New York:

Nearly a year after a Whitesboro doctor's death a 23-year-old Sauquoit women is behind bars, charged with her murder.

Doctor Mary (Baker) Yoder passed away at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center on July 22nd, 2015 at the age of 60, according to her obituary. Up until her death she and her husband, Dr. William R. Yoder, DC, owned and operated Chiropractic Family Care on Oriskany Boulevard in Whitesboro. They were in their 28th year of business.

During the autopsy process, performed by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner, the Oneida County Sheriffs Office, received a phone call from a family member of Yoder who felt the death was suspicious and she wanted it to be investigated further.

With cooperation from multiple agencies including the Sheriffs Office, the District Attorneys Office and the Upstate Poison Control Center, Dr. Yoder's death was determined to be a homicide in December of 2015, according to the Sheriff. The cause of death was then determined to be Colchicine toxicity. Colchicine is typically used to treat gout and familial Mediterranean fever.

After a multi-month investigation that began in November of 2015, 23-year-old Kaitlyn Conley of Sauquoit, NY., was arrested on June 13th, 2016, indicted by an Oneida County Grand Jury and charged with Murder in the 2nd degree, a Class A-I felony. Cont. (Video)
