Story out of Savannah, Georgia:
A Savannah man was arrested last month after police say he assaulted two women with his car while also yelling racial slurs during a drunken rage in a Habersham Street grocery store parking lot.
Sherman Crow, 65, was charged with reckless driving, reckless conduct, disorderly conduct, making terroristic threats, aggravated assault and driving with an unlawful blood alcohol level in the May 26 incident.
Ira McPherson was reportedly helping Joan Wilson, her 82-year-old mother-in-law, get into a vehicle just before 7 p.m. at Red & White Jones Food Market, police said. McPherson drove her car to the front of the store to prevent Wilson from having to use a walker across the store’s parking lot.
Crow then yelled “you (n-word) bitch” and other derogatory statements as Wilson attempted to get into the car. As the two women attempted to leave the parking lot, Crow reportedly rammed his vehicle into McPherson’s vehicle repeatedly, causing the airbags to deploy.
McPherson’s car sustained substantial damage to the doors and fenders, police said.
Witnesses at the store reported that Crow was visibly intoxicated and shouting belligerently. Cont.
