Story out of Port Orange, Florida:
An 8-year-old boy died on Friday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his grandparents' house, Port Orange Police said.
Police said Christopher Scurry, Jr., and his 12-year-old brother were in the home with their 80-year-old great-grandfather in the other room, when it is believed that Christopher accidentally shot himself with a 9 mm handgun that was reported stolen out of South Daytona. Details on the gun were not immediately available.
Police said that when they arrived, the Christopher's brother was performing CPR with the help of a neighbor.
Christopher was taken to Halifax Hospital in critical condition, where he died just before 1 p.m. Cont.
