Man Jumps Into Lake To Avoid Police After Being Pulled Over

Police say they think he was inebriated at the time. Cutting off a police officer? Jumping into lake? Nah, he good. Story out of Quebec City, Quebec:

Quebec provincial police say a driver they stopped early Sunday ran away and jumped in a river when he was asked to take a breathalyzer test.

According to police, the man was pulled over at about 1:45 a.m. after cutting off a patrol vehicle on President-Kennedy Road near the town of Scott, about 45 kilometres south of Quebec City.

After exiting the vehicle, at the request of the officers, the 29-year-old made a beeline for the Chaudière River and jumped in.

A search and rescue operation was immediately launched but the suspect was only spotted several hours later.

At 6:30 a.m. he was seen walking down the same road, wearing wet clothes but in good health.

He was taken into custody and is expected to face several charges. Cont.
