Pittsburgh Pirates Infielder Accused Of Drugging Then Raping Woman He Met Through Dating App
Story out of Chicago, Illinois:
Chicago police are investigating Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Jung Ho Kang after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted when the team was in Chicago last month.
Kang hasn’t been charged. The Pirates are playing in St. Louis, and Kang wasn’t in the lineup Monday.
Police said the Chicago woman met Kang through a dating app called Bumble and was invited to Kang’s hotel room on June 17.
The woman told police she arrived at Kang’s room at the Westin Hotel around 10 p.m.
After having a drink, she said she blacked out about 15 to 20 minutes later, then felt groggy as he sexually assaulted her.
The 23-year-old woman went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital on June 19, where a rape kit was administered. Cont. (Video/Autoplay)
