College Football Player Dies After Team Practice

Story out of Chadron, Nebraska:

A 20-year-old college football player died following his team’s practice at a small school in western Nebraska on Thursday.

Chadron State College Eagles freshman Eric Goll had to be taken from the practice field to Chadron Community Hospital, school officials said in a statement. Medical staff pronounced Goll dead at around 12:30 p.m.

Goll's autopsy Friday morning at Regional West Medical Center showed he had an enlarged heart, according to Dawes County Attorney Vance Haug. The condition "likely contributed to his sudden and unexpected death," Haug said in a statement. Cont.
