Story out of San Diego, California:
A Garden Grove resident died early Sunday morning after getting run over by a car during his birthday party in San Diego, police said.
Jonathan Carlyle Merkley and friends were drinking alcohol at the Staybridge Suites hotel when a female party-goer decided to leave around 12:30 a.m., said San Diego police officers Robert Heims.
Merkley apparently did not want her to leave and lay down in front of her white BMW.
The woman did not stop – and ran over his chest, Heims said.
He was rushed to a local hospital where he died about 45 minutes later, according to the San Diego County Coroner’s Office website. He turned 34 on Saturday.
The woman was not arrested, Heims said. But an investigation is ongoing. Cont.
