Students Yell 'White Power' Through School Hallways, Celebrating Trump
Story out of York, Pennsylvania:
Police are investigating allegations of racially motivated incidents at the York County School of Technology, following a video that circulated on Facebook showing students carrying a Trump sign and someone heard saying “white power."
The video was shot Wednesday inside the school, located at 2179 S. Queen St., York Township, and administrators determined the identities of the students involved, according to York Area Regional Lt. Tobin Zech.
Three students have been disciplined, a school official said.
Following the video’s circulation the day after the presidential election, allegations of other incidents — students of color being spat on, racial slurs and a gun threat — surfaced on Facebook among students and parents.
Sandra Thompson, president of the York NAACP, said she'd been alerted to some of the social media posts and heard from several parents and community members.
"What's happening at (York Tech) is an example of what's happening across the county, state and nation," Thompson said. She's had reports of black people being harassed in Lancaster County and others being threatened at gas stations. Cont. (Video)
