Boy Sees Vending Machine For First Time - Gets Arm Stuck Inside

Story out of Melbourne, Australia:

A four-year-old boy was freed Sunday evening after his arm was stuck for nearly six hours in the first vending machine he'd ever seen.

Leo Shorthouse who is from Australia's remote far north was on a holiday with his family in Melbourne when he spotted the vending machine in a hotel lobby, according to BBC News.

"We live up in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, and I don't think he's seen a vending machine before so he saw the Oreos, and some biscuits and a few other things," his father, Aaron Shorthouse told BBC.

Rescue workers attempted to distract Leo by showing him cartoons on their phones and giving him a stuffed toy while they worked. Leo had to be sedated multiple times during the effort, according to the Guardian.

Leo was taken to the hospital after and treated for minor injuries. Cont.
