Baptist Church Sends Lesbian Woman Letter Of Condemnation, 15 Years After Leaving Church

Prayerful action? Hit The Deck! Story out of Bostic, North Carolina:

A lesbian woman from North Carolina was sent a scathing anti-homosexuality letter out of the blue by her ex-church, which she stopped attending 15 years ago.

Last Thursday, Kelly Toney received a surprising letter from the leadership of First Baptist Church in Bostic, telling her to turn away from ‘homosexual sin,’ with reference to her marriage last year to her wife, Lori Ann Toney.

The church has only learned of the Toney’s marriage recently, and the letter it sent spoke openly of its disagreement with homosexuality and same-sex marriage, as well as its wish/threat to take action against Kelly if she is unwilling to repent and abandon ‘this area of open immorality’:

‘If there is no willingness on your part to receive this appeal and display repentance and abandonment of this area of open immorality, then the Church will have no choice but to take appropriate and prayerful action to address the standing of your fellowship with this Body at such a time that will be determined by the leadership and members of this congregation.’ Cont.
