Totally Responsible Gun Owner Shoots Gun Into Air, Injuring Man During 4th Of July Celebrations

Story out of Columbus, Ohio:

A man attending Whitehall's annual July Fourth fireworks celebration Sunday night was injured when he was struck by a bullet, apparently from celebratory gunfire.

Medics stationed at John Bishop Park examined the man, Mario Jovanovski, 21. They determined he had been injured by a bullet probably fired into the air that fell and hit him.

The fireworks celebration was also marred by groups of juveniles fighting. An unknown number of arrests were made, but no serious injuries were reported. Whitehall said its officers, assisted by Franklin County sheriff's deputies, kept the confrontation from getting out of hand.

The disturbance was caused by "one group of young people with bad intentions finding another group with like intentions," said a city official who asked not to be identified. Cont.
