5-Year-Old Accidentally Killed After Finding Loaded Weapon In Closet

Story out of Marrero, Louisiana:

A 5-year-old boy was killed in an accidental shooting Tuesday evening, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to the JPSO, the 5-year-old boy, identified as Melvin Brady, and his 9-year-old brother were playing in a closet, when they found a handgun.

The older brother was handling the gun, when it went off and shot Melvin one time, according to the sheriff's office.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found Melvin inside the closet with a gunshot wound to the head, and the semi-automatic handgun lying next to him. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The boys were in the home alone at the time of the shooting. Cont. (Video/Autoplay)
