Vietnam Vet Sets Himself On Fire Over Trump Argument

Story out of Akron, Ohio

A Vietnam veteran in Akron, Ohio, set himself on fire Saturday after becoming frustrated with locals in a coffee shop for not protesting President-elect Donald Trump vehemently enough, ABC 5 News Cleveland reports. The unnamed 69-year-old walked into Angel Falls Coffee around 9:15 a.m. and began engaging with customers about the recent protests. While about 300 marched against Trump recently in the nearby city of Cleveland, and thousands nationwide, the vet thought the demonstrations should be larger. “He seemed to be pro-rally, against Trump and he talked to my customers about how people needed to protest more against Trump,” Angel Falls Coffee shop owner Jim King told ABC News 5 Cleveland.

Dressed in a U.S. Marine Corps uniform and becoming upset, the man then left the coffee shop and handed a passerby his phone requesting they begin recording. Things turned gruesome – the vet then grabbed a can of gasoline from his car, doused himself in it, and set himself on fire. While the passerby didn’t take the video, witnesses were able to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher. “He was curled in a fetal position, perfectly still except for some hand movement and he was completely covered in ash,” said King.

The vet was taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently being treated in the burn unit. He is expected to survive. Cont.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder Says Children's Literacy NOT A Fundamental Right

Detroit school children have no fundamental right to literacy, according to Gov. Rick Snyder’s attorneys, in the midst of a suit claiming the poor reading skills of Detroit students at five schools, deplorable building conditions, and lack of basic classroom necessities are the fault of the state.

A California public interest law firm is representing seven Detroit public school students who believe the education they are getting is substandard and essentially want the courts to rule that literacy is a fundamental constitutional right reports WWJ legal analyst Charlie Langton.

The lawsuit says the schools are in “slum-like conditions” and “functionally incapable of delivering access to literacy.” The case, filed in federal court, directly accuses Gov. Rick Snyder, the state school board and others of violating the civil rights of low-income students. Cont.

Jewish Leaders Strongly Condemn The Hiring Of White Nationalist Steve Bannon As Adviser

And others remain silent. I'm pretty sure this falls under the whole "first they came for... and I said nothing. Just say'in.

Jewish leaders have condemned President-Elect Donald Trump’s decision to appoint Steve Bannon, his campaign chief and head of the racist, misogynist, anti-LGBTQ, antisemitic site Breitbart News, to a senior adviser and strategist role in the White House.

In addition to hiring Bannon—whose site once labeled conservative pundit Bill Kristol a “renegade Jew,” and called for the Confederate flag to be flown proudly in the days following the 2015 massacre at a black church in Charlestown—Trump also appointed Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus his chief of staff.

“It is a sad day when a man who presided over the premier website of the ‘alt-right’—a loose-knit group of white nationalists and unabashed anti-Semites and racists—is slated to be a senior staff member in the ‘people’s house,'” said Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt in a statement.

The ADL’s condemnation comes just weeks after it published a report on the antisemitic targeting of journalists during the 2016 presidential campaign. Of the 2.6 million antisemitic tweets sent last year, 19,253 were directed at Jewish journalists, the ADL found.

In sworn affidavits, Bannon’s ex-wife Mary Louise Piccard, who claimed he choked her, said he refused to send his twin daughters to an elite Los Angeles private school because too many “whiny brat” Jewish students were enrolled there. Bannon has denied this. The late Andrew Breitbart, the site’s namesake, reportedly called Bannon the “Leni Riefenstahl of the Tea Party movement,” referring to the German director and Nazi propagandist. Cont.

Detroit Pistons Coach Stan Van Gundy Doesn't Mince Words When Discussing Tump

Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy noticed the quietness on this morning’s bus ride to Talking Stick Resort Arena.

He wondered whether his team was still thinking about its embarrassing 32-point loss to the Los Angeles Clippers two nights ago. But backup center Aron Baynes let him know that wasn’t it. He told Van Gundy that the players’ thoughts were on Donald Trump winning the U.S. presidential election Tuesday night.

That result disgusted Van Gundy. In a six-minute diatribe today, Van Gundy unloaded on the unconventional candidate who rose from being an underdog in GOP primaries to occupying the most powerful office in the world.

“I don't think anybody can deny this guy is openly and brazenly racist and misogynistic,” Van Gundy said. “We have just thrown a good part of our population under the bus, and I have problems with thinking this is where we are as a country.”

After he finished his rant, he said he didn’t feel like discussing the game against the Phoenix Suns. Cont. (Video/Autoplay)

Russia Admits To Talking With Trump Campaign

Be scared america, But not too scared, you want to keep down those Chocodiles.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said the Russian embassy in the U.S. held talks with the Trump camp that “were on a sufficient, responsible level.” Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for Trump, said in an e-mail that she was “not aware” of any meetings by campaign representatives with Russian diplomats.

Ryabkov said the talks were “part of routine everyday work.” There was also “sporadic” contact with the Clinton team, though it was “not always productive,” he said. Calls to members of Clinton’s former campaign team for comment weren’t immediately returned.

Trump has said he’d welcome better ties with Russia, would be willing to cooperate with Putin to defeat Islamic State in Syria, and may even consider recognizing the Kremlin’s annexation of Crimea. Cont.

Cop Put On Administrative Leave After Tearing Out Woman's Nipple Ring With Pliers

Story out of Marin, Texas:

A Texas state trooper is under investigation after two Fort Worth women claim he got pliers to help remove piercings from their breasts and later injured one of them with his hands.

The trooper, identified in the women's arrest records as Michael Tice, has been placed on administrative duty, said Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Tom Vinger.

The women, 18-year-old Tayler Myers and 19-year-old Courtney Palacios, said they were returning to Fort Worth from a concert in Houston on Monday when the trooper stopped them for speeding in Marlin, east of Waco.

The trooper said he found a single pill in the vehicle and arrested them and two male friends for drug possession, the women said.

While being booked into the Falls County Jail, the two women said the trooper asked them to remove any piercings.

"We ended up getting one of them out," Palacios said. "We each got our right one out. But we were having trouble with the left. It was not coming out at all."

That's when they say the trooper went to his car – and returned with pliers.

hen Palacios said the trooper touched her.

"He came up to me and he got really close to it, and he was just staring," Palacios said. "He's like, 'I think it unscrews from the left side.' So then, without gloves or anything – and I could see dirt under his nails, it was extremely disgusting – he gets on there and he tries to twist it and he starts shaking from trying so hard and he ends up pulling it and ripping it and it starts bleeding."

"I feel like it's not right, what he did, at all," said Myers, whose father is a Fort Worth police sergeant and mother is a police dispatcher.

The women have hired Fort Worth attorney Curtis Fortinberry and are considering filing a lawsuit. Cont. (Video/Autoplay)

Two Men Fight At Polling Station, One Man Claims He Has A Gun

Story out of Palm Beach County, Florida:

Deputies say a 39-year-old man was videotaping a 68-year-old man with his cellphone.

The person being recorded didn’t like it and slapped the phone out of the photographer’s hand.

The younger man then struck the 68-year-old causing him to fall down, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Worried about his safety, the man on the ground said he had a weapon but did not threaten to use it, the sheriff’s office said.

It turned out that he had a concealed weapons permit, investigators said.  However, he is facing a charge of simple battery and criminal mischief and he received a notice to appear. Cont.

Former KKK Leader David Duke Celebrates Trump Victory

A former Ku Klux Klan leader – or 'grand wizard' – has suggested fascists had helped Donald Trump win the US presidential election.

David Duke, who once led the neo-Nazi, white-supermacist organisation, tweeted the claim on election night.

“This is one of the most exciting nights of my life,” Mr Duke wrote.

“Make no mistake about it, our people have played a huge role in electing Trump!”

During the election campaign, Mr Trump only hesitantly denounced Mr Duke and the KKK, but that did not deter the far-right politician. Cont.

Trump Supporter Uses Pepper Spray On Voter

Story out of Jupiter, Florida:

Jupiter police are investigating the altercation between Tom Garrecht, who voted for Hillary Clinton, and Donna Tatlici, who was handing out Donald Trump literature at the site.

Tatlici, 58, said she has been at the Jupiter Community Center volunteering for a week when Garrecht, 52, arrived to vote and screamed at her, “I don’t need anyone to tell me who to vote for.”

Tatlici responded, “I’m not here to do that. I’m just here to give you the information.”

After Garrecht voted, Tatlici said he exited the polling site, charged at her and “came right into my face,” and was yelling expletives at her.

Tatlici warned Garrecht that she had pepper spray on her key chain and that he should back away.

As the shouting increased, the two got closer and she pepper-sprayed him. She said at that point Garrecht “put his hand on her shoulder” as the two continued to have words before Garrecht slammed her to the ground and “started punching her.”

Those who saw the altercation say the fight happened in front of some campaign signs for Trump and Republican candidate for U.S. House District 18 Brian Mast. The signs are a legal distance away from the polling place. Cont.

Republican Steve King Threatens To Impeach President Hillary Clinton Before Inauguration Day

So, basically knowing Republicans are dead in the water, they will act like big babies unless you give them all the cookies? Got it.

If Hillary Clinton wins the election Tuesday, a prominent Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee says there will be an immediate move to impeach her before she can even be sworn into office Jan. 20.

Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, told WND he has spent the last week ensuring Congress has secured all of the hundreds of thousands of emails examined by the FBI over the last 10 days and has confidence the House could impeach her before she assumes office.

King, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, noted the only alternative to a possible impeachment of a president-elect Clinton would be if a groundswell of American voters rises up to elect Donald Trump.

FBI Director James Comey informed members of Congress on Sunday that a review of the 650,000 emails discovered on a laptop belonging to Anthony Weiner had reinforced his July 5 decision not to refer charges against Hillary Clinton. Cont.

Ruh Roh - Trump In Trouble After Black/Hispanic Turn Out Explodes

Voter turnout among African American and Hispanic voters in the United States has surged in early voting, and this swell of minority participation could spell trouble for Donald Trump's White House hopes.

On Sunday -- the last day of early voting before Election Day on November 8 -- hundreds of people attended "Souls to the Polls" events, aimed at encouraging churchgoers to vote across the key swing state of Florida.

Some came straight from morning worship, wearing three-piece suits and dresses as they made their way past dozens of campaigners hoisting signs for local candidates and urging support for solar energy and education issues.

At one event in central Miami, people held hands and prayed outside an early voting site, while at another in southern Miami-Dade County, about 20 African American men rolled in together on motorcycles.

For some, the vote they cast was as much for Democrat Hillary Clinton as it was against her Republican billionaire challenger.

"I'm scared if Trump wins," said Ines Curbelo, 57, a nurse who described herself as Afro-Cuban and was handing out Democratic flyers at a polling place Cutler Bay, south of Miami. Cont.

‘Rope. Tree. Journalist.’ - Trump And His Deplorables Threaten Journalists

Story out of Minnesota, Minneapolis:

At a Minnesota rally for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump today, Reuters Politics photographed one Trump supporter wearing a pretty provocative T-shirt.

This plays into some of the real estate mogul’s rhetoric over the campaign in which he’s targeted the media as part of the “rigged” system. Recently, the anti-media attitude has spread among his supporters, with rally attendees berating and attacking members of the press, who are typically confined to a media pen at rallies.

Last week, NBC News’ Katy Tur was singled out by the GOP candidate during one of his speeches, where he noted that she wouldn’t be reporting on the crowd size. Tur, who had been the target of Trump’s abuses in the past, was soon harassed by those in attendance. This led to folks on Twitter starting an #ImWithTur hashtag to show support for the reporter. Cont.

"Elders Of Zion" - Al Franken Calls Out Antisemitic Undertones In Trump's Last Ad

The Democratic senator for Minnesota, Al Franken, has accused Donald Trump of launching an antisemitic TV advertisement along the lines of the fake Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Franken, who is Jewish, said he immediately was struck by what he called “a German shepherd whistle, a dog whistle” in a new two-minute advert from the Trump campaign, launched as the countdown to Tuesday’s election intensifies.

The film features lurid shots of Wall Street and the Federal Reserve interspersed with images of three prominent Jewish people: Janet Yellen, who chairs the Federal Reserve, the progressive financier George Soros and the Goldman Sachs chief executive, Lloyd Blankfein.

Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union, Franken told host Jake Tapper the advert was acting as a “dog whistle to a certain group in the United States”. He called the political commercial “an appeal to some of the worse elements in our society in the closing argument” of the election. Cont.

“Trump’s Victory Is Confirmed" - Indian Group Throws Celebration After Declaring Trump President

Story out of New Delhi, India:

An Indian fringe group on Friday celebrated the “victory” of U.S. presidential contender Donald Trump, hailing his friendship with diaspora Indians and backing his call to ban immigration by Muslims from countries hit by Islamic militancy.

With drums banging and speakers blaring, the Hindu Sena, or Hindu Army, gathered at Jantar Mantar – New Delhi’s answer to London’s Speakers’ Corner – to proclaim to a knot of TV crews that Trump had “already won” the Nov. 8 vote.

“Trump’s victory is confirmed early, due to his thoughts against Islamic terrorism and love for India and Hindus,” said Vishnu Gupta, the Hindu Sena’s self-styled national president.

Its celebration at a roadside stall featured posters bearing the slogans, “India Loves Trump” and “Trump Our Only Hope”. One supporter held up a portrait of Trump with a tilak, or religious mark, on his forehead and held a sweet to his mouth. Cont.

12-Year-Old Boy With Cerebral Palsy Meets Obama After Trump Supporter Kicks His Wheelchair

Fun story, while looking for a picture of Neo-Nazis for a story today, I typed in 'Neo-Nazi march' and guess what popped up?... No, not the Shriners silly, Trump supporters.

Story out of Kissimmee, Florida:

On Saturday, a brave little boy with cerebral palsy was harassed and thrown out of a Trump rally. After hearing about the incident, President Obama spent his entire Sunday afternoon with the 12-year-old sensation, JJ Holmes.

Allison Holmes, JJ’s mother, told Obama that they showed up at the Trump rally in Tampa, Fla. to protest Trump’s mocking of a reporter with disabilities. Trump supporters responded by “chanting ‘U-S-A’ and pushing his wheelchair,” Alison told The Washington Post.

Kimberly DeFalco, a woman who witnessed the events at the Trump rally and spoke about it with Alison, posted on Facebook that Barak Obama and the former secretary of state are two of J.J.’s heroes. DeFalco also helped encourage the meeting between the President and JJ. Cont.

Trump Super-PAC Funneling Money To Rudy Giuliani's Law Firm

Make America Number 1, the pro-Trump super-PAC controlled by hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah, has paid law firms associated with Rudy Giuliani $563,003 in 2015 and 2016.

The PAC, originally called Keep the Promise 1, supported Ted Cruz before shifting to Donald Trump after he secured the Republican nomination this spring. It began paying Bracewell & Giuliani for legal and compliance services in June of 2015, making $336,495 in payments until February 14, 2016. It stopped using Bracewell a couple of weeks after Giuliani left the firm in January.

In May, on the 12th, the PAC retained Giuliani’s new firm, Greenberg & Traurig, initially paying $99,470 for legal and compliance services. In June, the PAC changed its name and aligned itself squarely with Trump. On its website, the group described itself as “supporting conservative principles, upholding the rule of law, and opposing ethically challenged candidates… It’s (sic) first special project entitled, ‘Defeat Crooked Hillary’, will shed light on what the Clinton’s (sic) want to keep in the dark.”

While his firm has been on the PAC payroll, Giuliani has been fanning the flames of every Clinton controversy. But he has made it clear that he thinks the Clinton Foundation issues are the worst, saying on Fox this week: “This was the one I always thought was clearer.” Invoking his history as a federal prosecutor, Giuliani said he could make a case against the Clintons on the foundation “in two months.” The foundation has long been a fixation of the Mercers as well. They fund the Bannon-led non-profit Government Accountability Institute whose president, Peter Schweizer, author of “Clinton Cash,” an innuendo-strewn book about the foundation that apparently became fodder for a probe initiated by FBI agents from the New York office earlier this year. Rebekah Mercer serves on the Institute’s board and co-produced, with David Bossie, the longtime head of Citizens United, a documentary based on the book that was released just before the Democratic National Convention. Cont.
