"First Kill" - 14-Year-Old Arrested After Attempted Murder

Story out of New Richmond, Wisconsin:

A 14-year-old New Richmond girl who said she was a “psychopath” and wanted another girl seriously injured to be her “first kill,” was charged Thursday in St. Croix County Court with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

St. Croix County sheriff’s deputies responded around 9:30 a.m. to a location north of New Richmond on Kali J. Bookey’s report of an attempted abduction. She said she had been riding her bicycle earlier that morning when she was physically assaulted by two men wearing ski masks and armed with a knife.

Bookey said in an attempt to ward off the attackers, she suggested they go to a New Richmond residence where they would find a girl home alone.

At that residence, police found the girl, 15, lying on the floor in a bedroom, bleeding profusely from her face and neck. She eventually told police that Bookey, her boyfriend’s sister, attacked her.

The victim said she had been in bed when Bookey tried to suffocate her, and they struggled, with the victim being repeatedly struck in the head and face.

Bookey then hit the victim over the head with two bowls, using shards from the broken bowls to cut the victim. Bookey then asked the victim if she wanted to die or bleed out, and when the victim answered to bleed out, Bookey stopped the cutting.

Bookey said she “was a psychopath and crazy and that (the victim) was her first kill and she was probably going to kill again.”

Bookey said she made up the abduction story to explain her own injuries and to get help to the victim.

Police noted that Bookey described the assault in “a calm, mostly unemotional manner.” Cont.
