Man Arrested For Putting Wife's Hands In Deep Fryer

Story out of Oceanside, Long Island:

A restaurant owner is suspected of pushing his wife into a boiling deep fat fryer, all while their two children watched, police on Long Island said Monday.

Xiuling Xiao and his wife had been arguing while working at their restaurant, which was not identified by police, when Xiao allegedly grabbed his wife’s hair on the back of her head and pushed her toward a boiling deep fat fryer, police said. Both of her hands became submerged in the scalding oil.

The couple’s children – ages 12 and 14 – were present at the time, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital with second-degree burns on her hands, police said. Xiao faces assault charges and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said. Cont.
