Story out of Arcadia, Pennsylvania:
A tip led investigators to the body of a man shot in his sleep in a small, rural village by someone who was upset that the victim insulted his brother, police said.
David Yingling, 61, told state police in Indiana County that he killed Ellwood Skillman, 50.
"I was tired of him calling my brother a retard," he said, according to a criminal complaint.
Yingling was arrested Friday and charged with criminal homicide for the shooting at his home on Arcadia Road in Montgomery Township.
State police said Skillman was shot Monday, but his body wasn't found until Thursday when the Cherry Tree police chief got a tip about the homicide while working off-duty security at Purchase Line High School.
Frederick Kime, a friend to Skillman and Yingling, said he was at the house on Thursday when he noticed a foul odor.
Kime said Skillman was known to make fun of Yingling's brother, who lived with Yingling and has disabilities.
"(Skillman) picked on everybody. He would call (Yingling's brother) a fat turd and stuff," Kime said. "(Yingling) did say (Skillman) was slapping him around and stuff. He should have done something better than killing him." Cont.
