Police have arrested a Venezuelan man accused of performing illegal butt-enhancement injections that killed a Miami woman in April 2013.
Jose Robusto, 43, was booked into a Miami-Dade jail early Saturday on charges of manslaughter and practicing unlicensed medicine resulting in death.
He is accused of performing the injections that killed Suyima Torres, 28, after she went to the Cuerpos Health and Aesthetics in West Miami-Dade. The medical examiner’s office ruled that she died of an embolism.
After the death, Robusto had fled to his native Venezuela but was nabbed when he returned to Miami on Friday.
He admitted that he performed a first procedure on Torres but denied injecting her the second and fatal time, law enforcement sources told the Miami Herald. Cont.
