School Put On Lock Down After 7-Year-Old Brings Loaded Gun To Class
Lets hope these kids don't figure out that all they need to do to get a day off is bring their responsible gun owning parents' weapon to school. Story out of Springfield, Tennessee:
Westside Elementary School in Robertson County went on a soft lockdown Thursday, after Springfield Police say a 7-year-old brought a loaded gun to school according to Nashville CBS affiliate WTVF.
The station reported that officers said the student showed the loaded 9-millimeter handgun to classmates.
The following is a statement from Robertson County Schools:
On Thursday morning, May 19, a weapon was confiscated from a student at Westside Elementary School in Springfield.The school was immediately placed on a soft lockdown and Central Office personnel were notified. The Springfield Police Department, and the Department of Children’s Services were contacted and responded to assist with the situation. Parents were notified by School Messenger of the lockdown, which was lifted shortly after the police arrived. The student was removed from the school and the Springfield Police Department and Department of Children’s Services continue to investigate. Cont.
