Student Charged With Larceny, Suspended For Stealing Free Milk

I give up. Story out of Prince William County, Virginia:

A Virginia family is outraged after they say their son was thrown out of school over a carton of milk.

Prince William County police said the boy stole a 65 cent milk carton, but his family says that's impossible. Now, Shamise Turk received a letter saying her son, Ryan, has to appear in court for larceny charges.

"I mean, this is ridiculous. It's embarrassing. He's at home for 65 cents," said Shamise.

The incident happened at Graham Park Middle School on May 10. Ryan went back to the lunch line to get his milk, and he says a Prince William County police officer accused him of stealing, but Ryan is on the lunch program and the milk should have been free. Cont.
