Story out of Columbus, Ohio:
Thieves in Columbus got more than technology when they broke in a vehicle last week.
They literally stole a young boy's ability to hear. They took the device that allows him to hear, through a cochlear implant.
When you think of a crime victim, you probably don't picture four-year-old Sora Coate. He's a charismatic and curious little boy who loves to play and smile and laugh.
"He's just the best thing in my life," said Sora's mom, Laura Coate. "He's deaf in both ears. He was a year old when I found out. But he's always happy and when he's happy, I'm happy."
Coate says her son is not only deaf, but also autistic. Unwittingly last week, his disability made him a target for thieves.
"He was given the gift to be able hear earlier that day and that night, they all got taken," Coate said. "My heart is broken for him." Cont. (Video)
