Man Commits Murder Because The "Voices" Told Him To Do It

Story out of Glendale, Arizona:

A man detained by detectives confessed to killing a man Sunday morning at an apartment in Glendale after "voices" told him to, authorities said.

According to the Glendale Police Department, officers responded to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex near 75th and Glendale avenues shortly after 7 a.m.

Upon officers' arrival, Pedro Gomez, 29, was located inside a unit with a gunshot wound, police said. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and was later declared dead.

Michael Walter Mitchell, 27, was found nearby at the complex, police said. He was taken into custody and was being questioned by detectives.

Mitchell confessed to police that "voices" directed him to Gomez's apartment. Mitchell told police he entered the apartment and shot Gomez, according to Glendale police spokeswoman Officer Tracey J. Breeden. Cont.
