San Diego Church Tells Parishioners They'll Go To Hell If They Vote Democrat (Yes, That's Illegal)

Between requests for prayers for the sick and a notice for an upcoming chastity luncheon, a newsletter from a Catholic church in Old Town that doubles as an election-day polling site included a flier that told parishioners they’ll go to hell if they vote for Democrats.

Two Sundays later, the message had changed: Satan was working through former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Oct. 16 bulletin from the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church was stuffed with a flyer written in both English and Spanish that cited five legislative policies — support for abortion, same-sex marriage, euthanasia, human cloning, and embryonic stem cell research — that will doom a politician and their supporters to eternal damnation.

Lawyers who study churches and other nonprofit organizations said the statements violate regulations that prevent tax-exempt groups from speaking in support or against political candidates.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego on Wednesday said the messages in the flier and bulletin do not reflect Catholic teaching or diocese policies, are inappropriate, and that voters should use their conscience to determine which candidates to support. Cont.

Large Pile Of Dung Dumped In Front Of Democratic Party Headquarters In Ohio

I'd say Democrats should seek out revenge but with Trump, Republicans are already shoveling copious amounts of shit.

For those who think this election season can’t get crappier, we bring you to Warren County, Ohio, where a large truckload of manure was dumped in front of Warren County Democratic Party headquarters in Lebanon, about 35 miles northeast of Cincinnati.

A sheriff’s deputy was the first to notice the pile and alerted office leaders of it about 8 a.m. Saturday, local party officials told The Washington Post.

If any of this sounds or looks familiar, it may be because a similar dump occurred at the same offices in 2012. Nobody was ever caught after that incident.

The pile was about 15 to 20 feet wide and about 3 feet tall at its peak, Goldenfield estimated. Most of it was cleared early Saturday afternoon by volunteers and a contractor the office hired to haul away the manure, she said. Cont.

“A Heck Of A Coincidence” - North Carolina Democratic Headquarters Attacked On Same Night GOP Office Firebombed

Story out of Orange County, North Carolina:

Democratic officials in North Carolina have asked law enforcement to step up protection of campaign workers after Orange County offices for both the Republican and Democratic parties were targeted on the same day.

On Sunday, the Republican Party said that its Orange County headquarters was set ablaze by vandals. Graffiti found on a nearby building said, “Nazi Republicans leave town or else.”

Orange County Democratic Party Chair Matt Hughes told Raw Story on Monday that vandals had also targeted his offices in Carrboro. Both attacks were said to have occurred early Sunday morning.

According to Hughes, staffers found the words “Death to Capitalism” scrawled on the OCDP headquarters when they came into work.

Hughes called the two incidents “a heck of a coincidence.” Cont.

Anthony's Weiner Investigated Over Sexting With 15-Year-Old

A law enforcement source tells CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton that the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan are investigating former congressman Anthony Weiner on recent allegations he engaged in sexting with a 15-year-old girl.

The disgraced former congressman has acknowledged he communicated online with a girl who accused him of sending sexually explicit messages, but he said he’s also been the subject of a hoax.

An online news outlet, DailyMail.com, on Wednesday published an interview with the 15-year-old girl, who said the online text and video exchanges, including Skype chats in which Weiner asked her to undress and touch herself, went on for several months this year.

Weiner, who resigned from Congress in 2011 after revelations he was sending sexually explicit messages to multiple women, issued a statement Wednesday apologizing but not directly addressing the issue of whether he had engaged in chats with the girl. Cont.

Huma Abedin, the wife of the former Representative Anthony D. Weiner, announced on Monday that the couple were separating in the wake of a report that Mr. Weiner had been involved in another sexting scandal.

Mr. Weiner, who resigned in 2011 after it was revealed he had been sending lewd messages and photos to random women online, apparently deleted his Twitter account on Monday after The New York Post reported that he had exchanged sexual messages with an unidentified woman last year.

The initial scandal destroyed his political career and strained his marriage to Ms. Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton.

On Monday, Ms. Abedin said in a statement: “After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband. Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy.”

Ms. Abedin has been by Mrs. Clinton’s side for two decades, first as an intern in the first lady’s office in the 1990s and then as a top aide as Mrs. Clinton began her own political career as a United States senator from New York. Army Pulls Training Slide Listing Hillary Clinton As Threat To National Security After It Was Posted To Facebook

A PowerPoint training slide listing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and retired Gen. David Petraeus among "insiders" who threatened national security was in use for 18 months at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, before Army officials pulled it out of circulation.

The image includes photos of Clinton and Petraeus along with Maj. Nidal Hasan (who shot and killed 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009), Aaron Alexis (who shot and killed 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard in 2013), Chelsea Manning (convicted in 2013 for leaking documents while an active-duty soldier) and Edward Snowden (who leaked classified National Security Agency surveillance information in 2013). It was posted Sunday on the U.S Army W.T.F! moments Facebook page.

The slide came to the attention of Army Training and Doctrine Command on Monday, TRADOC spokesman Maj. Thomas Campbell said, and it was pulled from the presentation, which is part of a quarterly training requirement, "promptly."

Campbell could not provide specifics regarding how many soldiers had received the training, which unit or individuals had created the slide, and whether any punishments or investigations were conducted, saying only that officials have "addressed the issue with our personnel." "She Did It For Revenge" - Pennsylvania attorney general Who Tried To Smear Rival Found Guilty Of Perjury

Controversial and now convicted Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane's long and laborious fight to keep her job could be coming to an end.

A jury in Norristown on Monday convicted the Democrat from blue-collar Scranton on nine counts of perjury, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, official oppression and false swearing. Kane has repeatedly rejected calls for her resignation, including from Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf, since being charged a year ago. Wolf on Monday again called for Kane to step down.

Kane, 50, has dismissed as political the accusation that in 2014 she leaked information from a 2009 grand jury probe — and later lied about it — in a vindictive effort to humiliate former prosecutor Frank Fina. Kane believed Fina had planted a story saying she had pulled the plug on at least one undercover bribery sting of Democrats in the Statehouse, according to testimony at her trial.

Under state law, Kane must resign by her sentencing date, which the judge said would be within 90 days. Defense lawyer Gerald Shargel called the verdict a "crushing blow" and promised an appeal.

Five former aides testified against her, however. One, testifying with immunity, even admitted working with Kane to devise a cover story to deflect blame away from the attorney general.

"She did it for revenge," prosecutor Michelle Henry told the jury. "And she covered it up with lies." Cont.

Nancy Pelosi Inundated With Obscene Calls And Messages After Russian Hackers Post Personal Info About House Democrats

Why can't there be just one hacker that leaves positive messages? "I hacked your phone, lady! Your family seems lovely, I hope you have a good day and a pleasant tomorrow. :)"

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had to change her phone number after a hack of the House Democrats' campaign arm led to a barrage of "obscene" calls and messages, she said Saturday.

"I have received scores of mostly obscene and sick calls, voicemails and text messages," Pelosi wrote in a letter to party members. "Please be careful not to allow your children or family members to answer your phone."

Pelosi also urged members and staff who were receiving similar calls to change their phone numbers.

Her comments came just a day after hackers posted personal information, including cell phone numbers and email addresses, for Democratic House members and staff. The hacking group "Guccifer 2.0" claimed responsibility for the breach, which took documents from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

"Our Silence Does Not Honor The Victims, It Mocks Them" - Democrat On Moment Of Silence For Every Mass Shooting

After the deadliest mass shooting perpetrated by a single gunman in U.S. history, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) called for a moment of silence at 4 p.m. on Monday to “honor the victims.” When the House does the same, Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) won’t be there.

“We meet this tragedy week in and week out with smug, self-empowering moments of silence in the House that do absolutely nothing for anybody,” Himes told ThinkProgress.

“I’d love to interview one of the parents down in Florida and say: What does 16 seconds of silence in the House of Representatives mean to you?” he continued.

On Sunday night, after learning about the Orlando massacre and then attending a screening of a documentary about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Himes wrote a series of tweets addressing Congress’ planned moment of silence.

"Take Your Border Wall And Shove It Up Your Ass" - Democrat Tears Into Trump

A Hispanic House Democrat who represents a Texas district bordering Mexico tore into Donald Trump's attacks on a Mexican-American judge, calling them blatantly racist.

Rep. Filemon Vela didn't mince words in a lengthy open letter to the presumptive GOP presidential nominee on Monday.

"Mr. Trump, you’re a racist and you can take your border wall and shove it up your ass," Vela wrote. "[Y]our ignorant anti-immigrant opinions, your border wall rhetoric, and your recent bigoted attack on an American jurist are just plain despicable."

The second-term lawmaker noted his own Mexican roots and pointed out that his family immigrated to the U.S. before Trump's grandfather did from Germany.

"Before you dismiss me as just another 'Mexican,' let me point out that my great-great grandfather came to this country in 1857, well before your own grandfather. His grandchildren (my grandfather and his brothers) all served our country in World War I and World War II. The Nevada Democratic Convention turned into an unruly and unpredictable event, after tension with organizers led to some Bernie Sanders supporters throwing chairs and to security clearing the room, organizers said.

Friction between Bernie Sanders' supporters and state Democratic Party leaders had flared throughout the day on Saturday. The convention was scheduled to end by 7 p.m. and when it hadn't wrapped up by 10 p.m., authorities at the Paris Las Vegas casino informed party organizers they could no longer provide the security necessary to handle the crowd.

The hostilities began when Sanders supporters accused state party leaders of putting them at a disadvantage, and they objected to procedural votes to approve the rules of the event on Saturday. They also questioned a credentials committee's disqualification of 58 would-be Sanders delegates. State party officials said the would-be delegates didn't provide acceptable identification and did not meet the May 1 deadline to register as Democrats. Cont.

U.S. War Veteran Running For State Senate Is Brutally Beaten With Brass Knuckles

Story out of Charleston, West Virginia:

A war veteran running for a state senate seat on the Democratic ticket in West Virginia was brutally beaten Sunday at a cookout, leaving him with several broken bones and in need of surgery.

Richard Ojeda is still in the trauma unit at CAMC General Hospital in Charleston as of Monday morning, reports CBS affiliate WOWK-TV. He will have surgery later in the week.

Jonathan Porter of the Whitman's Creek area of Logan County has been arrested as the primary suspect in the incident, although no motive has been provided as of yet. Officials told WOWK-TV he is facing three felony charges.

Ojeda's sister, Kelly Ojeda, said they were all attending a political cookout Sunday in Logan County when the suspect asked Ojeda for a campaign bumper sticker.

Ojeda told WOWK that he doesn't remember much after he went to put the sticker on the suspect's vehicle. Witnesses said it was then that the suspect attacked the Iraq and Afghanistan veteran with brass knuckles, striking him eight or nine times, knocking him out. Cont. (Video)

75% Of Americans Favour Protections For Transgender People

Republicans just view that percentage as a reason to become even more insane. Their days of being for the people are becoming decades old.

Americans broadly oppose laws that would require transgender people to use facilities that correspond with their gender at birth rather than their gender identity, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll, and three-quarters favor laws guaranteeing equal protection for transgender individuals.

Overall, 57% say they oppose laws requiring transgender individuals to use facilities that do not match their gender identity, 38% support such laws. Strong opposition (39%) outweighs strong support for these laws (25%). There's a partisan gap on the question, with Democrats and independents more apt to oppose them than Republicans.

But Republicans aren't broadly in favor of them either. The poll finds Republicans about evenly split on laws like this, with 48% in favor and 48% opposed. Republicans are divided by ideology, with moderate and liberal Republicans tilting against the laws and conservative Republicans breaking in favor. That mirrors a pattern found in surveys on support for legal gay marriage, with moderate or liberal Republicans generally more in favor of gay couples' right to marry than conservative Republicans.

Broad majorities of Americans say they would favor laws that guarantee equal protection for transgender people in jobs, housing and public accommodations, 75% say they back those, slightly fewer than favor similar laws protecting gays and lesbians (80% favor equal protections for gays and lesbians). Top Trump Attorney Can't Vote For Trump Because He Is A Registered Democrat

Top Donald Trump surrogate and attorney Michael Cohen revealed on CNN Thursday that he couldn’t even vote for his boss in New York’s Republican primary because he was a registered Democrat.

CNN’s John Berman began by asking Cohen whether he thought RNC chair Reince Priebus should stay or go if Trump won the nomination. “That’s Mr. Trump and the campaign’s decision,” Cohen responded. But when Berman continued to press him, Cohen revealed he was actually a registered Democrat.

Berman was clearly shocked to hear that. “You can’t vote? Can you vote?”

“Not in the primary,” Cohen said.

“So his kids can’t vote and you can’t vote in the primary tomorrow?” he asked again.

“I’d like to be one of his children,” Cohen said, a totally normal and not weird thing to say. “But no, I’m not voting in the primary. I’m a registered Democrat.” Cont.

Clinton Campaign Paid Katy Perry $200,000 For Endorsement

Pop star Katy Perry’s company has been paid nearly $200,000 by the campaigns of presidential candidates she has endorsed, including Hillary Clinton, public records show.

Perry endorsed Clinton in October. Two months later, the Hillary for America campaign reported paying Perry’s company, Kitty Purry Inc., about $70,000 for “event production.”

It was not immediately clear which event that referred to or what services Perry’s company provided. Neither the Clinton campaign nor Perry’s manager responded to questions about the arrangement.

Perry was a high-profile Obama supporter during the 2012 campaign, even donning an Obama-themed dress, complete with campaign slogan “Forward,” during a concert at an Obama rally in Wisconsin. Cont.

Investigators Are Trying To Determine If A Bullet Was Intended For Bernie Sanders

Story out of Las Vegas, Nevada:

A bullet hole was discovered in a storefront window at the Bernie Sanders campaign headquarters in northwest Las Vegas on Thursday morning, the same day the Democratic presidential candidate was on site, Metro Police said today.

Officers responded just before noon to the campaign office at 815 South Rainbow Blvd., near Alta Drive, authorities said. Police said it appears a bullet went through the window but declined to comment on whether a shot had been fired. Cont.

People Are Drinking Hot Sauce In Support Of Bernie Sanders

Some supporters of U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders have decided they need to "feel the Bern" by either donating $3 to his campaign or swallowing a teaspoon of hot sauce in front of a camera.

Writer Wayne Gladstone spawned the #FeeltheBernChallenge earlier this week by posting a YouTube video in which he did both. He announced he would donate $3 US and drink a teaspoon of Frank's Red Hot sauce.

Amid a vicious winter storm on Monday that forced some presidential campaigns to cancel their scheduled stops in Iowa, only Martin O'Malley decided to press on.

 And one man at his last event, the only person to show up, in fact, "was glad to see me," the former Maryland governor said. But he still would not commit to caucus for O'Malley.
