Thief Steals Special-Needs Teen's Tricycle
Story out of Burbank, California:
Investigators released security video of the man suspected of breaking into a secure garage at 4524 Clybourn Avenue and taking D.J. Jeffries’ bike at 4:15 a.m. Saturday. It was locked together with his wheelchair.
The 13-year-old was born with cerebral palsy. He said riding the tricycle gives him a chance to feel like he fits in with his peers and allows him to temporarily forget he has a disability.
The tricycle costs $5,000, which was paid for with a $1,000 grant and $4,000 in donations. Cont.
