Teen Runs Over Cop In Attempt To Flee

Story out of Orange County, Florida:

An Orange County sheriff's deputy suffered severe head injuries when she was deliberately run over Friday morning by a teenager on whom she was serving a warrant, according to authorities.

"The juvenile had active custody orders, and when confronted by Sgt. Pearce, the juvenile fled, deliberately hitting the sergeant and causing injuries," the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Pearce heard the car's engine revving up before she was struck.

The 15-year-old, identified by Demings as Jancarlos Ortiz, fled in a white Honda hatchback with black rims and remains on the loose, deputies said.

Demings said Ortiz was previously arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement official, fleeing, armed burglary, grand theft and trespassing. Cont. (Video)
